The Lindfields estate, whilst being conveniently close to the attractions of Disney, is a quiet residential area. From the pool deck we have a view across a small pond of a nature conservation area, so we often see some of the local wildlife, particularly some spectacular birds.

Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, NASA Kennedy Space Center, Everglades National Park, Busch Gardens

The Disney World theme parks are about 4 miles away along Highway 192. Interstate 4 towards Orlando takes you to Universal Studios with rides including Men In Black, Jaws, Back To The Future, ET, Earthquake, Shrek and Terminator 2. The City Walk is well worthwhile as is a visit to the Hard Rock Cafe which is the largest in the world. Sea World is also highly recommended for the marine life and the display put on by the dolphins, sea lions and killer whales - just be careful where you sit as you could get very wet! Though if you enjoy getting wet then Wet 'n' Wild on International Drive may be your thing..

Alternatively Highway 27 will take you, in an hour or so, to the Gulf Coast's fabulous white sand beaches at Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Rotonda. Also recommended is Busch Gardens, Tampa with Rollercoaster and White Knuckle rides for the adventurous or a train safari ride through an African game reserve with elephants, giraffes, camels, tigers etc. for the more sedate.

In the other direction is the Atlantic coast with Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach (NASCAR speedway) and the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, again only an hour or so by car.
